MEET THE AUCTIONEER 

Samuel R. Baer is a third-generation auctioneer from northeast Ohio. Growing up the youngest of six children with a family operating two auction businesses work was not in short supply. At a young age starting as a sheet carrier then into setting up and clerking sales into the teenage years. Although auctions were a part of life, after high school Sam pursued a degree of Bachelors in Agri-Business from The Ohio State University following a passion for the livestock industry. During those four years auctions were still part of every trip home and summer breaks working with the family. In the summer between sophomore and junior year he attended Reppert auction school just as his grandfather, father and 3 bothers did before him. Apprenticing and learning the auction craft with the family business over the next year while attending school. Then during the senior year of college, Sam was a member of the 2009 OSU Livestock Judging Team, a talent he actively uses teaching 4-H youth livestock evaluation. Shortly after college, Sam found himself with an opportunity to use his degree in the livestock industry in north central Ohio, conveniently located where his wife Heather was born and raised. Sam continued to travel home on large auction days to assist with the family business, and still does to this day. An important relationship was developed and a home away from home was found while assisting United Country Walton Realty & Auction LLC, shortly after the transition to north central Ohio. Today Sam is a licensed auctioneer and real estate agent assisting sellers’ market their assets via the auction method. He conducts auctions across the state of Ohio in real estate, farm and business liquidations, collections, antiques, benefits and more.
